1. Visit the beaches in Dénia
Marineta Cassiana is one of Dénia’s most popular beaches, with fine sand and clear waters. It is a great place to relax, sunbathe and swim. Les Rotes is a beautiful stretch of coast with rocky coves and clear waters. A great place to walk along the coast, snorkel or enjoy the beautiful beaches.

3. Visit the castle of Dénia
Also known as the Castell de Dénia, is an impressive fortress that towers high above the city. Dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries, it offers stunning views of the city, the port and the Mediterranean Sea. Inside the castle, you can explore the historical remains and learn more about Dénia’s history.
4. Visit the museum in Dénia
Located in the historic center of Dénia, the Archaeological Museum offers a glimpse into the city’s rich past. It houses a collection of archaeological finds dating back to prehistoric times, as well as Roman and Islamic artifacts.
5. Visit the market in Dénia
- The Mercadillo de los Lunes is a very large market in a large parking lot just below Parc de Torrecremada. The market consists of many large and varied stalls. You can go here mainly for (second-hand) clothing. You can park nearby for free. This market is held weekly on Mondays and is open from 08:00 to 15:00;
- Every Friday you can go to Mercadilo Viernes Dénia, the market in the center of town. The range of stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables is huge. This market starts early and is known for its affordable prices and good quality. This market is open from 06:00 to 14:00.

What to do in the surroundings of Dénia?
6. Visit the Montgó natural park
The Montgó Natural Park is a nature reserve that extends behind the town of Dénia. It is an ideal place to hike and enjoy the beautiful natural environment, with diverse plant and animal species.
7. Visit the wetlands
El Marjal de Pego-Oliva, just under half an hour from Dénia, is an important habitat for birds and other animals. You can take beautiful walks here and enjoy the peace and quiet.
8. Visit the garden oasis
Just fifteen minutes from Dénia lies L’Albarda Garden. Explore an area of 50,000 square meters and more than 700 native species of flora.
9. Take a dip in the waterfalls of Algar
these are about an hour’s drive from Dénia and offer refreshing baths and walks through nature.

10. Taking the Ferry to Ibiza
Visit Ibiza with the ferry Balearia from the port of Dénia. The trip takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
11. A day out in the surroundings of Dénia
- Jávea (Xàbia): (about a 15-minute drive away) Jávea is a charming coastal town with a historic center, beautiful beaches and impressive natural attractions such as the viewpoint (mirador) Cabo de la Nao;
- Calpe: (about 30 minutes drive) Calpe is best known for the Peñón de Ifach, a striking rock rising from the sea. You can climb the rock for a panoramic view of the surrounding area. Calpe also has a pleasant promenade and beautiful beaches;
- Altea: (about 35 minutes drive) Altea is a picturesque town with a whitewashed old center and a beautiful church with a blue dome. It is a popular spot for artists and has a relaxed atmosphere;
- El Castell de Guadalest: (about 1 hour drive) Guadalest is a unique village carved into a mountain. It has a castle, a reservoir and many interesting museums. It is a popular destination for a day trip;
- Gandia: (about a 35-minute drive) Gandia is a larger town with a historic center, a palace and a bustling boulevard. It also has a beautiful beach and a marina.

12. The church in Dénia
The Iglesia de la Asunción is a striking church in the historic center of Dénia. It was built in the 18th century and is known for its impressive Baroque-style façade. Inside you will find a beautiful interior with some interesting works of art, including a Baroque altar and a number of paintings. The church is an important part of Dénia’s cultural heritage and well worth a visit if you are interested in architecture and history.
13. Visit the marina of Dénia
This is a lively place with numerous yachts and boats. Here you can enjoy a walk along the boardwalk and restaurants overlooking the harbor.
14. See the observation tower in Dénia
The Torre del Gerro is an old watchtower on the coast. This tower used to be part of the defenses against pirates.
