D*na Gastronomic Festival Dénia

Live cooking workshops and show cooking at the beach in Dénia

Dénia was named one of the most gastronomic places in Spain by UNESCO in 2015. It received the title Creative City of Gastronomy. Partly because of this, Dénia is known as the gastronomic capital of the Mediterranean.

One of the events from which this is evident is the D*na Festival Dénia which is organized by the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation.

The 1st edition took place in 2017. This year (2025), the 8th edition will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 and Sunday, Sept. 28.

The D*na Festival through the years

For the first 2 editions (in 2017 and 2018), the Marineta Cassiana-Promenade was filled with stalls where visitors could taste dishes by chefs. The third edition (the D*na Forum in 2019) was all about sharing experiences. The fourth edition (the D*na Restaurant in 2021) was held the center of Dénia where restaurants were the focal point of the event.

The fifth edition (in 2022) was again held as before according to the original D*na Festival concept. This became a special edition with no less than 500 meters long table overlooking the sea, “the biggest table in the world. During the sixth edition (in 2023), the focus was on the sea and all that the sea has brought to Dénia. Cooks, chefs and people who work at sea were brought together.

The 7th edition (in 2024) was dedicated to the vegetable garden. Quique Dacosta prepared the only dish he had not yet made during his career, the dish itself, which led to the menu Plats de la terra, a menu specially created for the land caretakers and farm workers.

This year’s edition (2025) focuses on gastronomy as a total art form, in dialogue with other disciplines such as music, dance, film and literature.
