Run clubs, or running groups, have skyrocketed in popularity in recent years. What once began as a niche for avid runners has grown into a broad movement that brings together runners of all levels and backgrounds.

These clubs offer more than just an excuse to put on the running shoes; they are a source of motivation, social connection and personal growth. Such is the case on the Costa Blanca.

  • Albir Plant Shack Run Club

The Albir Plant Shack Run Club, part of the broader Plant Shack Community, organizes weekly running sessions with the inspiring slogan ONE COMMUNITY- CREATING HEALTHY ADDICTIONS.

Runners meet every Saturday morning at 9 a.m., changing starting locations and exploring adventurous routes in Albir and Calpe, among other places.

This running club is closely associated with Plant Shack, the well-known 100% plant-based smoothie and juice bar with locations in Altea, Calpe, Albir, Dénia and Mallorca.

This highlights the focus on a healthy and active lifestyle, perfectly suited to creating healthy habits.

  • Alicante Run Club

The Alicante Run Club is a vibrant and popular running community in Alicante, known for their motto: Rise early. Run strong. and the addition We run for the endorphins… and the espresso!

Every Saturday morning, usually starting at 08:30 or 09:00, they gather at the port (Puerto de Alicante) for a sporty start to the weekend.

The club offers several options to join: a fast 5 km, a gentle 5 km, and a walking group, making it accessible to a variety of levels.

The effort is invariably followed by reward in the form of communal coffee drinking, often at a local coffee shop.

With sometimes as many as 100 participants and an online following of more than 2,000 followers, this Run Club in Alicante is an energetic group known for its friendly atmosphere and sharing good vibes, where bringing new friends is actively encouraged.

  • Altea Run Club

The Altea Run Club is a cozy and approachable running group that meets every Saturday morning from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. for their usual 5-kilometer run, after which there is a standard communal coffee.

They even work with a real“Tracklist” with which they present the “program.

The club emphasizes the social aspect, as regularly some of the group continues the fun with a visit to a local craft brewery and concludes with dinner.

Whether you want to improve your fitness, just start running or just meet new people, you are welcome to join this Run Club in Altea.

The Run Club even has its own WhatsApp group.

  • Benidorm Run Club

Benidorm has had a new running club since May 2025: ADOSMILLAS, born from the clothing brand of the same name.One combines sportsmanship with exploring the city.

Weekly on Saturdays, runners gather for a run. This young club offers a great opportunity to keep fit while exploring the area.

A nice detail is that each run will have a different route, allowing participants to keep exploring new parts of Benidorm while running.

  • Calpe Run Club

Calpe Runners is an inclusive running community created to bring together runners in Calpe who seek motivation and companionship. Created from the simple idea of sharing the passion for running, the club is open to everyone, regardless of pace or experience.

Under the motto Want to improve your endurance, body and mind? Join our running community and let’s reach our goals together! runners meet on Wednesday evenings, Friday mornings and Sunday mornings. There are no set times, but the morning runs start at 07:00 or 08:00 and the evening run often starts at 20:00.

One of their special events is a running and walking tour under the full moon, where participants enjoy the sunset until the moon sets. These treks emphasize not only the magical atmosphere and physical challenge, but also the importance of respecting and caring for the natural environment.

  • Sisterhood Running Club Elche

The Sisterhood Running Club in Elche is a running group specifically for women that runs under the motto: Running doesn’t have to be lonely 🙌🏼.

Every Thursday evening at 8 p.m. (in summer), participants meet at the Basilica of Elche, a regular starting place for their weekly lap.

The focus is on exercising together and providing community. To enhance the running experience, the club has its own Sisterhood Running Club playlist on Spotify.

The club has been in existence since 2023. In addition to Elche, Sisterhood Running Clubs also operate in Girona and Reus. For women who are in Elche and would like to run in groups, this club offers a great opportunity.

  • Moraira Run Club

The Moraira Running Club is an active running community focused on connecting people through sports.

They meet twice a week: every Wednesday night at 8 p.m. and Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

Anyone in the Moraira area who would like to run and be part of a sports group is invited to join their Strava and WhatsApp group and have a fun run with them.
