1. Walk to the lighthouse
The five-kilometer walk to the Faro del Albir takes a paved path through the impressive Sierra Helada Natural Park.
Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of Altea Bay and discover historical sites such as an old ochre mine and the interpretation center at the lighthouse.

2. To the beach in Albir
Fancy a refreshing dip and relaxation in the sun?
Albir has 2 beaches: Playa del Albir is an elongated pebble beach with a calm atmosphere and an attractive promenade full of eateries and bars.
Next door is Playa del Racó Albir, a beach that lends itself well to families due to its proximity to amenities.
If you prefer to seek peace and quiet, there are two secluded coves: Cala del Amerador and Cala del Metge. These coves are well suited for those seeking tranquility or want to snorkel, although they are a bit more difficult to access.

3. Stroll along the promenade
Albir has a long marble-tiled boulevard. This boulevard is known as the Boulevard de las Estrellas (Boulevard of Stars), a name that refers to the special tiles in the pavement.
These tiles feature the names of actors and filmmakers honored during the annual L ‘Alfàs del Pi Film Festival, where winners can receive a marble plaque in recognition of their contribution to Spanish cinema.
4. View Ancla del Albir
This large sculpture in the shape of an anchor stands at the traffic circle where the Paseo de las Estrellas begins.
It is the work of sculptor Jorge Castro and was conceived as a symbol of unity between different cultures.
The artist and creator Jorge Castro called it Asentamiento (settlement) and conceived it as an element that anchors the traveler wherever he decides to settle.
The anchor symbolizes the welcoming atmosphere that characterizes Albir.
5. Visit the center of Albir
Although Albir is not large, you can think of the area bounded by Bulevard dels Musics and Av. de l’Albir streets as the center of Albir.
Here you will find most of the stores, a number of restaurants and other amenities including the Open Air Museum.

6. Visit the Open Air Museum in Albir
Visit the Museo al Aire Libre Villa Romana de l’Albir. This open-air museum displays the remains of an ancient Roman villa and offers an interesting insight into the history of the region.
Here you will learn about the ritual of bathing in hot springs built more than fifteen hundred years ago. Nowadays, excavations continue every year, making the museum ever expanding.
The museum is free to visit and it is even possible to watch a short 3D film.
7. Going to the market on Sunday
The Mercadillo El Albir is a popular weekly market held every Sunday in the large parking lot on Avenida del Albir.
At this market in Albir, consisting of more than 100 stalls, you will find a diverse range of products, from fresh local fruits and vegetables to clothing, handicrafts and souvenirs. The market is open from 08:00 to 15:00.
8. Shopping in Albir
Most of the small and relatively unknown stores are located on the Av. de l’Albir. Are you looking for clothes and really want to shop? Then you should go to Centro Comercial La Marina, this shopping center is located just behind Benidorm as seen from Albir.
You can get there in 15 minutes by car. Here you will find clothing stores of Bershka, H&M, C&A, MANGO, Jack & Jones, Springfield, Guess and Zara, among others. You will also find an ALE-HOP, Rituals, Jysk, ACTION and even an IKEA here.

You’ll find ALE-HOP on the boulevard in Albir. They offer a wide range of fun and original products at affordable prices. Think toys, party supplies, stationery, household items and small electronics. In Albir, ALE-HOP is also recognizable by the black and white cow at the entrance of the store.

10. Climb the Sierra Helada
For experienced hikers, crossing the ridge from Albir to Benidorm is highly recommended.
This challenging hike traverses the region’s highest cliffs, offering spectacular elevation changes and sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea.
11. A baby carriage tour of the coast
Experience an off-road adventure on a baby carriage tour along the Costa Blanca from Albir.
12. Play sports in Albir
Most of the sports facilities are located on the west side. Albir Garden Sports is a complete sports resort with everything you need for an active vacation.
Train on the soccer fields, play basketball or volleyball in the gymnasium, or improve your fitness on the athletic track. Take a dip in the pool, work on your muscles in the gym or challenge yourself on the climbing wall. After an intense workout, relax in the wellness area with jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish bath.
In the area you will also find several golf courses. But you will also find Campos de fútbol de El Albir, a large sports complex with two soccer fields.
In addition, the complex has an athletics track, a climbing wall and other sports facilities. It is a popular spot for both local sports clubs and international teams that come to Albir during the winter months for training camps.

13. Albir Film Festival
Every year in July, this prestigious festival honors Spanish cinema on Albir’s marble boulevard. Famous actors and directors receive a star in the pavement here, similar to the famous Walk of Fame in Hollywood.
Visitors can enjoy several outdoor film screenings and festive galas in the immediate area for a week.
14. Summer craft market in Albir
During the warm summer months, the Paseo de las Estrellas transforms into a lively market for local artists and artisans.
Here you will find a wide range of handmade jewelry, ceramics and authentic souvenirs that reflect the creativity of the region.
15. Fiestas del Jubileo in Albir
In November, the community is all about the celebrations in honor of the patron saint Santísimo Cristo del Buen Acierto.
The festivities include traditional processions, spectacular fireworks and various live performances that fill the streets of Albir and Alfaz del Pi with energy.
16. L’Alfàs en Jazz
Each September, the community welcomes national and international jazz musicians for a series of concerts at various venues.

17. Oktoberfest in Albir
In October, the resort’s large international community celebrates this well-known folk festival with German beer, traditional food and live music.

This local version of the Bavarian festival has become a fixture, attracting thousands of visitors to the center every year.

18. Special holidays in Albir
- February/March: Carnival, just like in the rest of Spain, carnival is also celebrated in Albir and L’Alfàs del Pi, with a colorful and fun parade for all ages;
- March/April: Semana Santa (Holy Week), the holy week is celebrated in the municipality with various, more intimate and solemn processions that depict the passion of Christ;
- June: Noche de San Juan (St. John’s Night), on the evening of June 23, the arrival of summer is celebrated on the beach of Albir with traditional bonfires (
hogueras), music and fireworks;
- October: on October 9, the Day of the Valencian Region (Día de la Comunidad Valenciana) is celebrated with various cultural activities. The Fiestas de l’Ancla also take place in this month, a festival specifically for Albir that celebrates the connection with the sea and the multicultural character of the neighborhood;
- November: the Fiestas Mayores del Santísimo Cristo del Buen Acierto, these are the most important festivals of the municipality of L’Alfàs del Pi. For a week there are concerts, processions, firework shows (mascletàs) and cultural events in honor of the patron saint.
19. Visit Casa de Cultura in Albir
In the field of culture you can visit Casa de Cultura, also called the Cultural Center of L’Alfàs del Pi. Throughout the year they provide a program with music, theater, film, exhibitions and training courses, among other things.

20. Walk along the waterfalls of Algar
The Algar waterfalls are a popular destination for day trips. The waterfalls are about a 20-minute drive from Albir and offer refreshing baths and a beautiful walk through nature.

21. Climb the Peñón de Ifach in Calpe
The ascent of the Peñon de Ifach offers a sporting challenge with the reward of panoramic views of Sierra Helada, Albir, Benidorm, Altea, Calpe and Benissa.
The nature park features trails that vary in difficulty, with the route becoming more adventurous after the tunnel for the experienced hiker.
At the summit, you experience a unique sense of freedom over 300 meters above the Mediterranean Sea.

22. Visit Altea: (a 5-minute drive away).
Actually not to be missed. Albir spills over into Altea. You can easily take a walk or bike along the water.
Altea is beautiful with white streets, the famous blue dome of the church and many art galleries. Stroll through the old town and enjoy the view from the Plaza de la Iglesia.
23. Visit Villajoyosa: (a 20-minute drive away)
Discover the chocolate town of Villajoyosa, with its recognizable colorful coastline.
Don’t forget to visit historical sites such as the Torre de Sant Josep and the archaeological site La Malladeta.
24. Visit Calpe: (a 20-minute drive away)
A visit to Calpe offers a diverse experience where the nature of the salt lake Las Salinas immediately stands out with the presence of pink flamingos and various bird species.
In the center, stroll through atmospheric streets and the famous steps in the colors of the Spanish flag in Calle de Puchalt.
